Perdido Key Travel and Weather Update - Hurricane Sally
Looking Ahead, We're Watching The Weather
Perdido Key Resort Management maintains a Business Continuity Plan which is intended to prepare the company for emergency situations such as major storms like Hurricane Sally. We are closely monitoring the weather situation and are prepared to activate our Business Continuity Plan so that we can quickly respond in the event recovery efforts are needed. At this time, all PKRM operations are operating under normal business hours. We are fully staffed and the maintenance crew is prepping properties for the inclement weather beginning first with any vacant properties, followed by those which had a departure this morning, and finally the occupied properties where our mutual guest has request assistance bringing in the deck/balcony items. I have messaged all of our guests to keep them informed as well. We may have our office closed tomorrow and/or Wednesday for the safety of our staff, but I won’t make that call until later this evening.
If recovery efforts are required, we will closely coordinate with the HOAs and COAs as well as emergency management agencies to ensure the safest and most effective operations. Once the threat of inclement weather has passed, we will begin our efforts to check each and every property for damage while our maintenance crew returns the items brought in back to the decks/balconies.
How We Are Tracking The Storm
We use the NOAA website exclusively as it is free of advertisements and, in my opinion, provides the best data for our planning purposes (here's a link to the website if you don't already have it bookmarked: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/) It looks like we may see two storms make landfall along the Gulf at the same time. Apparently, 2020 has more surprises in store for us. Nevertheless, in the office, we're prepared to take on another challenge and our maintenance team has already begun prepping the properties by bringing in deck and balcony furniture; this effort will continue through Monday. We will be in communication with the vacationers currently in Perdido Key to ensure that they are safe and that we are immediately aware of any damages.
Additionally, local announcements regarding the storm such as evacuation orders can be found on our county's website here: https://myescambia.com/news#storm-center
Have questions? Give us a call at the office!
I have responded to a few phone calls, texts, and emails over the past 24-hours with regards to these storm preparation efforts. I want to let you know that you are always welcome to touch base with me in the office if you have any questions about our operations. This year has reminded me of how fortunate I am to work with both you and my wonderful staff. I appreciate the opportunity to help you with your property in Perdido Key and if you need anything or have any questions, please never hesitate to give us a call.
