Patterned after a popular resort in Belize, you'll feel like you are on a Caribbean Island without the need for your passport! Enjoy all of the resort like amenities at The Purple Parrot! The winding pool with waterfalls, hot tub, volleyball on the sand, and decks to soak up the sun. You can also enjoy the indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and fitness room. This gated community is only 0.5 miles from one of the top sugar sand beaches in the United States, Johnson Beach and Gulf Islands National Seashore. Let your blood pressure drop as you relax here and feel like you're a thousand miles away. This one bedroom has a Queen bed with Memory Foam mattress, flat screen TV for lounging in bed, and a sleeper sofa for guests or kids. The living room offers a large flat screen TV which includes an expanded cable package. Netflix and Amazon Prime are offered as well with your personal log in information. Free high-speed Wi-Fi and a washer/dryer combo are also included. Enjoy coffee on the adorable front porch or by the waterfalls at the pool. A tiki bar is available adjacent to the pool where you can have cocktails and lunch poolside. There are also many great restaurants nearby. This is a cheerful and tropical unit where all you need to bring is your bathing suit and a carefree attitude! Guests of PKRM enjoy complimentary excursions like Free golf, Deep sea fishing charters, Dolphin cruises, Nature Cruises and/or OWA Amusement park tickets. There is a lot to do and see in this laid-back, small beach community but the most popular attraction is indisputably the azure colored water of the Gulf of Mexico with squeaky-clean white sand beaches.

Like coming to the purple parrot. Two things: Our unit has a horrible bed. It sinks in the middle. Like rolling over into a sink hole. Bathroom sink drains very slowly. Please management replace that mattress before the next renter.

Perfect for short stay. Great accommodations!!! Wing chair in living room has broken left arm and will break if too much pressure is placed on it. It is located directly across from main TV on the otherside of coffee table. Clock in bathroom, to the right of mirror, needs battery. Corroded contacts made it difficult to get the battery out. Double AA battery needed. All in all,...a great stay!!!

Unit was clean and cozy. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Lights around the pool area and in the pool were not working the entire time making it unsafe for swimmers. Other than that, it was nice.

Overall Comment

We had a lovely stay at the Purple Parrot. The resort itself is so quaint! The condo units are adorable and it feels like you're staying in a little tropical village. My teens loved having access to the Tiki Bar/Restaurant to order food. Our condo was clean and well-appointed. The furnishings were contemporary and felt warm and inviting.

A few drawbacks to the location: although we knew this property was not beachfront, we assumed we would be in walking distance to the beach. While we were in walking distance, there is no sidewalk to/from the resort to the public beach access and so driving is a must. The on-site pool is lovely and my teens enjoyed access to the waterfall, hot tub, lounge chairs, etc. It would be nice if the pool hours were extended past 10 PM (at least in the summer) since beach access is limited. Additionally, renters are not assigned a parking spot and with construction on the property (clearly stated on the resort website) parking spots are limited. Many containers (small storage units) are situated throughout the property as renovations are taking place. These shipping containers eat up parking spots.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Purple Parrot to our friends.

I will stay at the condo was actually quite enjoyable. The condo itself was spacious and clean everything that was promised on the website! However we did have a couple of problems. First on the day we arrived at approximately 2 PM we went to enjoy the beautiful pool and there was a crew working to trim palm tree branches. Along with the sound of the chainsaws and other heavy equipment the branches are falling down below to the chairs while the pool is full of people. I feel like this work could've been done early morning or late afternoon on the guest weren't trying to enjoy the pool. My biggest complaint however was the parking lot. After it rained the lime stone in the parking lot began to break away creating a white paint and rock mixture. Not only did we ruined several pair of shoes but I have an Acura TSX black in color that is only six months old. As I drove through the parking lot the light lime stone and rocks were thrown up on my car. I'm sure it will be well over $100 to have it properly detailed. Now I fully expected my car to get dirty on a vacation to the beach but this goes a little beyond that. I hope that you will warn your guest about this parking lot or repair the problem so no one else has to deal with it. Such a shame because it took away from the overall enjoyment
