Overall very good experience

Overall we had a very good experience. The room was very nice and the price was reasonable. Everyone we worked with was friendly and professional. The floors of the room were dusty/dirty in areas under the furniture and behind the doors. The workout facility for the resort was VERY dirty - the equipment and the room itself. Some of the equipment didn't work. Parking can be challenging if you return late in the evening. The spaces are not lined so car spacing is random and limited. There are overflow spaces outside the front gate of the resort. Be sure to read the information that is sent to you as you are expected to provide some of the housecleaning services - stripping of linens, taking out the trash to the dumpsters outside the facility front gate, loading and starting the dishwasher, and reseting the thermostat. Also, you are only provided 1 roll of toilet paper for your visit. Again, overall a good experience. We would stay there again.

Nicely furnished, comfortable, well stocked kitchen. Only exception is very uncomfortable bed which craters in the center causing occupants to roll into each other. Great secluded location in the resort away from noise of parking lot and highway.

Overall Comment

We really enjoyed our stay at Gone Coastal. The Purple Parrot is a wonderful resort with great amenities. The condo had been recently updated and was very nice. We did however have a couple of issues with the unit. The mattress for the pullout looked like someone had ate snacks all over it and was covered in little black hairs. We were not able to use it during our stay and our daughter had to sleep on the couch itself. There was also old food and crumbs under the pullout where no one bothered to clean. Our other issue was the flooring in the unit. I think the contractor that did the floor forgot to put a moisture barrier up under the unit and it has caused the floor to bow in some places. There was even a hole in the brand new floor in front of the bathroom entrance. But overall, we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely come back here again!

We ended up in 27cd Captains Cabin it was perfect with everything we needed to feel at home. We loved the pools and tiki bar to . The resort is just minutes from everything we wanted to do whether it was the beaches, dining, fun or the areas history and museums. We loved the Purple Parrot and look forward to bringing more family along for another stay in the future

Peachy Keen was an amazing unit. perfect in every way. impeccably decorated and kept. my only suggestion is to have owwner install a router for internet. NO ONE carries around a LAN plug to plug into a modem. i could not access the internet and that was very frustrating. its only 50 for a router. Purple parrot was wonderful as usual. i recommend it to everyone who wants peace and quite near the beach but not on it, reasonably priced and very tropical setting. kinda like being on a secluded island when u are away from the beach. see you soon, Jim Ritchey

Truly Peachy

We loved the adorable Peachy Keen unit. The setting is nice with the swamp area behind it, it felt secluded and cozy. The furnishings and decor are lovely. We were comfortable and very pleased to return back after our outings to this peaceful home. The kitchen was nice, and had everything I needed. It's so nice to be able to have fresh groceries and drinks in the fridge while away! The bathroom and shower area are nice as well. May I suggest a hair dryer for guests, who like me forgot theirs? Of course with the perfect FL weather and breeze, my hair was dry in minutes outside anyway:) Thank you for a great stay, and we hope to return very soon!!

Peachy Keen Lives Up To Its Name

We stayed in this lovely little apartment from Dec 11, 2012 until the end of April, 2013 and we couldn't have asked for a better home for the winter. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the Resort Management staff or the loving care that the owners have put into making sure that you have everything you need to make your stay the absolute best. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. The owners even dropped by to welcome us and find out if there was anything we needed. The pool, sauna and fitness area were always wonderfully clean and a joy to use. We were truly sad to leave at the end of April as we felt we were leaving not just a vacation rental but we were leaving a home!

Location is great. It put us in the middle of every where we wanted to go..We spent time in both states...Beach area at park was best I'D ever been at.Peachy keen was perfect...Had Evert thing we needed or wanted...Oh, one thing missing, A pot big enough for the crab legs we bought to cook that night. Dinner ended up great and enjoyed eating them on our screened in porch watching it rain...We loved it.

My daughter and I have spent the last few summers at the Purple Parrot, staying in Peachy Keen at least two other times. It is nice condo that is always clean and lovely. The Purple Parrot property has undergone several iterations over the last few years and it was good to be back this summer with the pool only being open to condo owners or renters.

Wonderful Stay at Peachy Keen

I booked this condo for a side trip for my sister's 40th birthday. Our vacation was for New Orleans with a weekend in Perdido Key. This condo was certainly one of the most pleasant places I have ever stayed. It has all the comforts of home and you can tell the owners take such pride in their vacation home. I could have easily lived here. It is definitely a condo I would consider for future vacations and I will also recommend the Purple Parrot highly to friends and family.

"Just Peachy"!

I stayed in Peachy Keen most of the month of January and February. While I was working, I found time to enjoy the surrounding shopping and beaches. Absolutely wonderful! Quiet and private, which is a huge plus. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to vacation or for work. Due to work I could not get to the office to pick up my keys, and they were left for me, so as to not inconvenience me! Friendly staff!

It was relaxing getaway at the beach!

We have stayed at this property before and always enjoy ourselves. The unit and grounds are clean and well kept and very close to the beach. The only issue we had this time was in regards to the pool on the property. It is now open to the public for a fee and you can no longer bring your own food/drinks to the pool. This was not ideal for the pool was more crowded and less convenient.

Peachy Keen was peachy keen!

Our family was moved to Peachy Keen when the air-conditioning needed to be repaired in another unit. We all liked Peachy Keen even better than our original choice. We enjoyed being on the main level more than we thought that we would, and the front screened porch was fabulous! Peachy Keen was bright, clean, and comfortable. The owners had left some very nice notes in the unit (and the Coastal Living magazines were a treat to read). This Peachy Keen unit was in perfect condition and we enjoyed staying there for our long vacation weekend. (The Tiki Bar area was not our "thing". We prefer a quieter lifestyle; however, this unit was located well away from the pool area so this was not an issue for us.) Someday we would love to return to Peachy Keen for a longer stay. Our family of four enjoyed a five day weekend in Perdido Key that mainly included "beach time" during the day and board games, movies, and relaxation in the evenings. We appreciated staying in a very nice place that felt like a true beach home.

Loved it!

This was my second stay at The Purple Parrot. I also stayed in January. That experience was not quite as nice as the one in February, due to the accomodations. My stay in February was superb! I stayed in 26C, a one bedroom villa, which was just adorable! Clancey is wonderful and was on both occasions. She was very helpful with area restaurants, shopping, etc. If I had a problem, she was on it immediately. I would definitely stay there again, because of her, and as long as I had a nice place like 26C. My first one was just not quite as nicely furnished, and the furniture was older, and the carpet was stained. 26 was absolutely wonderful!!! I loved it and I loved Clancey!

Most Enjoyable

I stayed for two weeks, starting in Mid-May, to visit my girlfriend and her family who live a mere ten minutes away from the resort. From even before I got there JD, the resort manager, was extremely helpful and easy to talk with about anything. The condo I stayed in, Peachy Keen, was clean and well furnished; It was also located a bit off the main road of the resort which was to my liking. I didn't actually use the pools or gym equipment, but I walked around and looked it all; Everything seemed to be in good and well kept order. There are however to small things: 1) I didn't like the rocky road, nor really understand why it existed as such; 2) My distance from the trash receptacles, this however might have been oversight on my part. The location suited me well with several stores and restaurants close by, and as I noted being close to the entire reason I came. All in all it was quite the deal.

WE HAD PLANNED ON ONLY A THREE DAY STAY AND ENDED UP STAYING FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK, CANCELLING THE REST OF OUR TRIP TO STAY AT PEACHY KEEN. THE WEATHER WAS ODD FOR FLORIDA, BUT BEING CLOSE TO THE WATER MADE IT ALL BETTER. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PURPLE PARROT ISLAND RESORT. WE WILL BE BACK!

Great Condo for the Price

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We went there to kayak in Perdido Key and they gave us some good tips and let us store the kayak trailer on the property. The condo was fabulous, very clean and tastefully decorated, and had plenty of room for 2 people. The condo was away from the main complex and pool area which was great for us as it felt like a separate home and was very quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

live your life to the fullest

I stayed for a whole week. Lucky me not much to do, but be yourself and to enjoy the beach. Of Course, their was food, wine, beer, cigars, and not to mention great hospitality at the Purple Parrot. The beach is always known to have pizza,and much much more. After I left the Purple Parrot I got a hotel near the airport and met a guy who showed me the other side where the real party was, but of course if you are looking for exclusivity the purple parrot is a wonderful place for just that. I then took a taxi to the airport to go to New York to see how Wall Street was doing... It seemed David Faber was on the phone hysterical I was told to do nothing from a banc of america investment specialist. Spent $500 on a hotel crazy for one night right?
