Not what we expected

Our first impression of 14B was not a good one. Coffee Pot was broken, kitchen not organized at all. Ice maker or water didn’t dispense from door, plus only worked when we would mess with it (ourselves) living room furniture was worn out and uncomfortable. Master bedroom mattress was lumpy, bath not very clean. The worst part being the washing machine ruined 8-10 items of clothing by turning white items a light gray or spotted gray. I think lack of use was the cause of that!! Needless to say our month long stay at the purple parrot in October will not be in 14B ever again!!

Our family of 4 had a great time at the Purple Parrot Resort, nice quiet gated resort with a beautiful pool and tiki bar, and sandy area for volleyball and cornhole, there was live music at the bar every night, Perdido Key didnt have much aside from beaches and very few restaraunts, but it wasnt a bad drive to Orange Beach or Pensecola if traffic isnt bad!

We had the best time! The weather was beautiful, the best time we have had in a long time!! Loved our place roomy, very clean and loved the location. The pool was wonderful and the Tiki hut food was great! No complaints! Would stay there again !

Condo was good and the kitchen was well supplied. Some furnishings and wall paper was a bit outdated, but acceptable. Tubs were very deep and there were no stability bars to help you to steady yourself while getting in/out - could be a potential hazard.

Condo was clean and looked just like in the photos we would come back again.
Just wished the beach was closer so u walk outside your condo to beach didn't have to drive down the road to go to beach.

The only problem was that the condo was advertised as having a couch that was to make out into another bed but it did not. They did change the info after I told them. Was not really a big issue and enjoyed our stay there and would go back again.

We were enthusiastically greeted upon check-in and right away felt welcomed! Paula was so patient and helpful, full of great tips and ideas for our stay in Pensacola. Loved the free-standing home! The place was beautiful inside and very, very clean! The kitchen was well-stocked and loved having a washer/dryer right there. The screened-in porch was a nice touch to enjoy the outdoors anytime day or night. My only disappointment was the really stained living room carpet (which was quite plush and lovely at one time!) and the grill on the porch was unusable. The pools on the property were easily accessible and the large outdoor pool was amazing!! We had a very quiet stay, and anyone else we ran into was very friendly. Close to the Naval Base where our son was staying, so that was a plus. We would definitely stay again and we would ask specifically for Junkanoo 14B!

Not as relaxing as I had hoped it would be

I stayed at the Junkanoo 14B and was not as impressed as I had hoped I would be. Areas of my stay were fantastic..I arrived late but JD made sure that wasn't a problem. The pool was beautiful as was the beach just down the road. But there were several things I didn't like about the condo. Junkanoo sits on the cornor, which means when people come flying around the corner (speed limit is 10 mph) you better watch out! It is also not small child friendly with the glass tables and the stairs (which I knew it had, but I wasn't aware my daughter would be so onry!!) The floors/area rug were also kinda dirty as I found out when she was crawling around. Not to mention the several (I would assume) cigarette burns in the rug. The chairs on the porch/balcony weren't very comfortable (similar to rod iron) and the balcony door from the Master was very difficult to open and close. The door had to be slammed, which would wake my daughter since she was in the room with me. Both full bathrooms were equipped with nice big bath tubs, but the water pressure left much to be desired. The resort itself was fabulous! Would I stay in Junkanoo again? No. But there are many more I could check out next time!

We stayed at Junkanoo 14B for one week at the end of May and we loved the condo. Very nicely decorated. It also had one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. The second day we were there we noticed that the air conditioner had frozen up and at 7:15pm we called J.D. to ask him if he could get someone out the next morning. J.D. called the air conditioner man and he was out there (no joke) in 10 minutes. He repaired the unit that night and we were so thankful. We hope to return in September.

I stayed at Purple Parrot with my girlfriends to celebrate my 50th. The condo was very clean ...the only thing we had a problem with was how light the water pressure was in the shower.Everything was great ...we had a blast and plan on doing it again.

Junkanoo 14B is beautifully decorated, large and comfortable. The management staff are terrific and we had all our needs met. I liked the beautiful outdoor pool though the time of year wasn't good for outdoor pool use. Our kids loved the indoor pool. The location is great but understand this is not right on the beach. The beach is just a short drive. There is a bar and grill right on the property and I would think spring and summer are wonderful there. We will definitely return. The value is terrific for the price. Thank you!

The Purple Parrot is a fantastic, fun, family friendly place that I would recommend to any and everyone I know! The property manager, JD, was phenominal and so was the woman who did our check-in, Leah. The Tiki Bar staff made my wedding reception absolutely perfect! They prepared good food for us at a great price! My only complaint is that the master bedroom faces the sun in the morning and there is a beautiful diamond shaped window without a window treatment on it, so I was up at the crack of dawn, but that just meant I got more time to enjoy the sights! Thank you and we will be back!

The resort was in an excellent location for Pensacola NaS, dining, the beach, and visiting Gulf Shores, AL. We very much enjoyed the amenities and decor of the Junkanoo condo and wished we could have stayed longer . We will definitely be staying at the Purple Parrot again!

Wow! What can I say. The place was so much more than I ever thought of. The entire resort was clean, JD was friendly and a great resource, the swimming pool was fun for our 2 year old son, cold beer at the tiki bar, and the house was absolutely beautiful. We decided that we will be returning in april at some point. Thanks again JD for the info on the Cactus Flower Restaurant. I advise to book a vacation asap here, no oil seen. Also check out alabama Gulf Zoo, Lambert's Restaurant in Folley, AL. and definitely McGuires Irish Pub!!!

Home was in great condition. Everything we needed was there. Managment was very friendly. Only thing I'd like to add is that it is not very kid friendly b/c of glass tables (we have a 1 yr old) but other than that everything else was wonderful.

The service was good. The manager took care of things right away.
The home was decorated well. It has very modern appliances.
The indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub were well maintained. I was not happy with the hours of open. 8 am was too late for me. Prefer 6 am. so we could get ready to do other things earlier!
If you have knee trouble this place is not for you with 16 steps inside to get to the two bedrooms up stairs and about 5 outside to enter the house.
The driveways coming in to the Purple Parrot is gravel with a lot of pot holes.
The manager was very friendly and helpful.

Well maintained unit and clean. Impressed with the cleanliness of the unit - this is important to ANY traveller.
Comfortable bed in the master. Close to the beach and great Mexican Restaurant - La Vallarta Authentic. Order the Charo soup!
We did see couple of issues, though. The single beds were not a very sturdy type. My two boys are about my size and the frames looked a little weak.
The internet was okay, but sometimes disconnected on it's own. Not an issue when you're emailing, but when your streaming the World Junior Hockey tournament "live: - Canada vs USA - it was a little more than heart-stopping.
The other issue was the cold floors. Granted the weather was not the warmest, the freezing temperatures on the tile floor prompted you to walk around the house in your shoes. The cold weather also forces the critters indoors as well. Noted a few ants in the kitchen on the last day.
Overall, nice stay, recommended.

Our Stay at the "Junkanoo"

Junkanoo 14B is simply the best place to stay on the Perdido Key Resort. The accommodations are outstanding (we stayed in the 2 bedroom condo with our two young sons) and the quality and thoughtfulness of the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms were outstanding. We were provided with anything and everything we needed, they were both outstanding and most importantly knowledgeable about Florida. The property is phenomenal and the views are tremendous. We used the pool quite a bit. The service and location of this resort is 5-star all the way. We have rented villas/houses in many areas and this is the nicest place we have ever stayed at...the website photos are exactly what you will find in this secluded yet family friendly resort. If you are looking for a romantic villa or a family get together this is perfect. The villas are laid out so nicely and are very secluded.
Would we return? Definitely! Can?t wait till next year.

We were there for a bachelorette weekend. We had a late arrival but when we got there everything was right there for us to pick up. The guy in the office was so nice and patient. We took pictures of every room in the house. It was beautiful!!! There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this house. We just went on and on talking about it. The resort was in a very good location!! Everyones favorite and best thing there was the pool!!! That is the most awesome pool ever! The least thing we all liked was the cloudy weather and the fact that we only got to stay 2 days! We will be going back there and hopefully stay longer!

The house was very comfortable, being the most important, beautifully appointed with wonderful appliances. Our group found the house very clean, centrally located with quick access to both pools. The waterfall in the pool was gorgeous. It was also conveniently locate near the beaches and the NAS Air Museum. I would recommend this house without hesitation to anyone, family or friends. Probably would not return after this stay

This was our 2nd stay at the Purple Parrot. First time there was in a 1bdrm and we loved it! So, we brought back our kids and had a 2 bdrm this time. It was not nearly as nice as our 1st visit and we probably will not return again. The condo was described as child friendly, but was furnished with all glass tables. There were no dressers or drawers to put clothes in the bdrms, which was difficult since we were there for a week. The dishes and pans in the kitchen were the cheapest ones you could buy and most of the pans were unusable. JD, the manager, did buy us one new frying pan so we could at least cook breakfast though. The first time I sat on a dining room chair the leg broke off and I fell on the floor holding my baby. The carpets were very dirty and stained. We used the broom in the closet to sweep the floor and the handle broke right off. Ant poisening all around the pool gave us concern for our son walking in it. A lot of "little things" that really added up to disappoint us. We were very surprised since our first condo was so beautifully decorated and clean. The inside pool was closed every time it rained for "inclement weather" and the outside pool which was supposed to be open at 9am was never once open on time. Not very pleased with our stay, especially since we had already recommended it to our friends who reserved as well. We did share all of this with JD, and he did buy us a frying pan to use, but that was all. There was nothing else done to make our stay better,
